My background

Where I started, how I learned the business, and why I work as an independent broker today.

Justin Lazzaro, mortgage broker

I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the work ethic I learned there still shapes how I take care of every client. I studied Finance and International Business at Duquesne University and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

I started that same year in PNC's mortgage development program in Chicago. In December 2015 I moved back to Pittsburgh as a PNC mortgage loan officer, a role I held for just over four years. Along the way I worked in processing, underwriting, closing, and sales, so I know what happens to a file after the application and where loans tend to slow down.

From January 2020 to April 2022, I served as VP of Mortgage Lending at Guaranteed Rate. I then spent almost two years as a team leader and loan officer at Lending Heights, from April 2022 to February 2024.

In February 2024 I joined Reasy Financial and formed The Lazzaro Lending Group. Working as an independent mortgage broker means I am not limited to one company's loan programs. I compare options across wholesale lenders and look for the loan that fits the borrower.

Today I am based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and I am licensed in Arizona, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Texas. I split my time between Scottsdale and Pittsburgh, where I still have a home. Most of my work is conventional and FHA financing, along with VA, USDA, jumbo, renovation, DSCR, and other non-QM loans when a situation calls for them. Whether you are buying your first home, moving up, refinancing, investing in real estate, or working through a less common situation, I can walk you through your options.

As a broker, I look at loan options from multiple wholesale lenders instead of one company's menu. I show you the tradeoffs, including the options that cost more, so you can choose with full information.
